Engaging Through Curiosity…
There are endless opportunities to improve each day, finding them largely boils down intentionality and being curious.
People who are 'better' in the end are usually curious in the beginning.
This week foster your own curiosity and understanding by starting a dialogue with a colleague (if you’re a manager, start with a direct report). Schedule some informal time with someone to learn more about these four aspects of their lives at work, each paired here with a “starter” question:
* Their talents and interests: When do you feel the most energized and excited about your work?
* The past experiences that have shaped their work: How did you get into your current field?
* Goals and aspirations: Where do you see yourself in the next 3 years?
* Any barriers in their path: What’s your biggest frustration at work right now?
In the comments, share with us what question prompt works well for you to begin a rich and engaging conversation.
